It is amazing to see how these heavily utilized yachts withstand the test of time. Good maintenance and good built quality?

* Standard charter outfit, 4 main cabins + 2 out front, 4 toilets
* Well maintained yacht. Usual, mainly cosmetic wear and tear.
* Mechanically sounds with no failures during our charter apart from the wrong size and type of anchore
* Large generator, plenty of A/C and watermaker. We didn’t use the watermaker during this trip
* Solar back-up
* 2 fridges / freezers & storage space as well as all required utensils.
* Welcome pack (like dishwashing liquid, toilet paper ect. Salt and pepper would have been nice, a bottle of vodka made up for it), fresh linen, blankets, pillows, towels and charcoal for the BBQ.
* NO raincoats. Make sure to bring one during the wet season. Wet = Cold
* Electronic navigation equipment, back up charts (which we actually used when the satellites dropped out) and local cruising guide, binoculars, torches.
* Large dingy and 6HP outboard
* Standard charter sails, but in good shape. All sheets were new.
OUTBOUND:
Extensive and very professional area and boat brief pre-departure.
Particular detail was given to the current bad weather, with sensible suggestions for achievable daily sails, sea-state, anchorages and tides.
There is no daily radio schedule required, just call or WhatsApp if you have a problem. However, DYC requires you to leave an approximate itinerary behind prior to Departure.
Yacht Haven Marina has very nice, new fascilities. Provisioning can be done in nearby (20min) supermarkets. Reliable taxi available via DYC
INBOUND:
After refueling at the separate fuel dock, you take the yacht back through the wide marina to its parking spot. Staff will assist if needed as there can be a very strong current in this marina.
A diver will come and inspect the hulls and props.
Detailed walk through and checklist to list any items needing maintenance. All signed by both parties after.
Quick trip to the office, show fuel receipt (I paid cash at the fuel dock), refund of security deposit, thanks for coming. Smooth and no stress – clearly a professional yet warm team.
